You might need to mute your Zoom audio as quickly as possible when your cat begins crying for its dinner midway through a Zoom video conference at home. Two options are available in such a situation: you can reach for your mouse or touchpad or use a keyboard shortcut to silence that noise right away. Let’s learn How to find keyboard shortcuts for Zoom.

Zoom offers many keyboard shortcuts that you can utilize before or during a video conference. This gives you quick access to joining meetings, muting and unmuting the audio, recording, changing views, switching screens between Speaker (large image of the speaker) and Gallery (multiple equally sized images of everyone speaking), etc.

There are shortcuts for each task in your Zoom app, and you can find a list of them there:
- Then, click on the gear icon at the top right of Zoom’s window to access Zoom’s settings
- Choose “Keyboard Shortcuts” on the left-hand side of the menu.
Several shortcut categories are grouped, including Meeting, Chat, Phone, and General. Click on the arrow to the right of the category name to open each category to see the available keyboard shortcuts.
Note: the keyboard shortcuts will differ based on whether you’re on a Mac or Windows PC, but they can be very helpful regardless of the platform while on a Zoom call.
